Since 1988, Robertson Investigations has been conducting specialized investigations which require covert surveillance. We have tailored our approach to surveillance and our surveillance techniques with the goal of achieving the best results possible for our clients.
Surveillance can be a very resourceful tool for developing information and documenting activity that is crucial for an investigation. The purpose of this web page is to provide our clients with a comprehensive, practical, and realistic understanding of surveillance.
The art of covert surveillance is a skill that is developed and perfected through training, and primarily from on the job experience and technology.Essential observation skills, covert driving techniques, the ability to effectively anticipate the direction of travel of a person during a moving surveillance, and the ability to successfully document the subjects' actions as they occur are some of the skills that are acquired by a well experienced investigator. In reality, surveillance is not conducted, nor does it unfold like on television or in the movies. Since 1989, Scott Robertson has logged over 7,000 surveillance hours.
Surveillance is most commonly conducted during personal injury investigations (workers' compensation), fraud investigations , insurance fraud, death investigations, corporate espionage, infidelity - cheating spouses, child custody and other domestic related matters.
During our 18 years of experience in private practice, we have identified four key elements which have proven to increase the success of achieving our objectives during a surveillance. These four key elements are information, planning, timing, and preliminary surveillance measures.
Existing information regarding the subject of an investigation such as their known address, daily routine, work schedule, social habits, recreational interests, vehicle information, etc. increases the possibilities of achieving our objective(s) during surveillance.
Preliminary surveillance is conducted when limited and/or unverified information regarding the subject is available.Preliminary surveillance is also conducted to assist the investigator and the client in determining whether or not surveillance is a practical application for the investigation.
A surveillance with limited information regarding the subject of an investigation is initiated with the understanding that pertinent information must be developed prior to conducting a surveillance that may lead to beneficial results. With this in mind, as each preliminary surveillance is conducted our initial focus is to verify the subjects' place of residency, place of employment, questionable information, and to establish an initial understanding of the subjects' daily routine, lifestyle and behavior.
Prior to conducting surveillance, we discuss the following topics with our client(s); surveillance planning, surveillance methods, surveillance schedule, our fee schedule, and the advantages and disadvantages of the surveillance to be conducted. We are in business to assist our clients with litigation support, to assist our clients in resolving their personal problems, and their business related problems. We are professionals in the field of surveillance. We are logical and practical with our approach and methods of conducting surveillance.
